Etisalat Misr and Telecom Egypt (TE) announced Thursday signing an amendment to their agreement for national roaming services. The deal was originally signed in July 2017.
The two companies cited better terms as reasons behind the deal’s amendment, which entails better financial and service quality terms for improved commercial conditions for TE, a joint statement indicated.
The two telecom operators also signed a new deal which involves national roaming services for TE’s voice and data traffic on Etisalat’s network.
The TE-Etisalat deal will end in December 2022.
Moreover, Etisalat Misr, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi-based Etisalat, and TE signed a letter of intent (LOI) for mobile termination rates which include a preferential termination rate for TE, the statement showed.
The LOI will set a framework for an interconnection rate between the two companies, they said.
