The sources added that this decrease is due to the bloody incidents that Syria is currently witnessing during the revolution against President Bashar Al Asaad, in addition to delaying work at the Egyptian Commercial Representation Body in Damascus since July 2012, therefore the commercial presence of  Egyptian products in the Syrian market negatively affected.

The Egyptian exports to the Syrian markets varied between the building materials, which reached EGP 568 million, chemical and fertilizers amounted to EGP 254 million, engineering and electronic products recorded EGP 486 million and the crops amounted to EGP 216 million.
