Swiss franc falls to lowest after SNB rate cut

The Swiss franc experienced a sharp decline against the dollar following the Swiss National Bank (SNB) 25-basis point rate cut on Thursday.

The Swiss franc fell by 1.1 per cent to 0.8971 and hit its weakest level against the euro since last July after the SNB policy decision.

Meanwhile, the euro rose by as much as 1.2 per cent to 0.978, marking its most significant increase since July 2023.
