Egyptian Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade will be inaugurating Phase I of Borg El-Arab silo in Alexandria within the ongoing month with EGP100 million total cost and storage capacity of 45.000 of wheat and 23.000 square meters area, Khaled Hanafy the Minister illustrated.
The Phase II of this silo will be finalized during the upcoming year with 45.000 storage capacity tons and this comes among the national project for establishing 50 silos across republic.
The Minister asserted that Phase I of the national project for storage wheat included establishing 25 silos including 23 mental silos with 30.000 storage capacity for each silo, adding that it is currently establishing Phase II of Borg El Arab silo and other in Marsa Matrouh, Hanafy noted.
Moreover, Hanafy said the mental silos lack the storage of wheat and this lack is ranging between 10% to 20% from the wheat stored through transportation and storage processes.
