Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has on Thursday morning visited Toshka in the South Valley in Aswan, witnessing the beginning of the wheat harvest season on Toshka’s agricultural lands, according to presidency spokesman.
The state’s efforts help in the development process in Toshka to set up integrated agricultural societies with wide economic returns. These societies would support food assurance, exports increasing, showing improvements in agriculture, and providing a lot of job opportunities within a revival of comprehensive development, the statement added.
Toshka project is the largest of its kind in the agricultural land reclamation sector in the Middle East. It is one of the mega national projects that had a significant success, the spokesman noted. Under Sisi’s directives, authorities in Egypt have succeeded in finding solutions to all the problems impeding the project so as to leverage the potential for its success.
The project helps in providing irrigation water and energy sources, supports establishing axes to link to the national road network, and provides financial resources for all these elements.
