Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi received a phone call on Thursday from Denmark’s Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, regarding the unfolding events in Gaza.
Both sides confirmed the danger of the situation and the need to avoid further escalation, given the severe repercussions this will have on the region’s stability.
Al-Sisi and the Danish PM also agreed on the importance of prioritising improvements to the humanitarian conditions in the Strip.
The president also emphasised that the only way out of the current situation is to work toward reaching a just and comprehensive settlement to the Palestinian cause, which is the two-state solution.
The President stressed the absolute necessity of stopping all military actions targeting civilians in the Gaza Strip.
The PM also expressed profound appreciation towards Egypt’s unrelenting efforts in the situation, including hosting the Cairo Summit for Peace.
