Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi arrived late on Tuesday to the Russian city of Sochi, where he and Russian President Vladimir Putin held informal talks ahead of their official meeting scheduled for early Wednesday.
The two leaders informally exchanged views on crucial topics of common concern and on regional and international issues, the statement read, according to a statement by the Egyptian presidential spokseperson Bassam Rady.
Sisi arrived in Moscow on Monday for a three-day trip, his second official visit to the country.
Ahead of flying to Sochi, Sisi met with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow, where they discussed trade, investement, tourism and other topics of mutual concern.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Egyptian president addressed the Russian Federation Council on a range of bilateral and regional issues.
On Wednesday, Sisi and his Russian counterpart are expected to sign a range of bilateral agreements.
