Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Monday received a delegation of the Federation of German Security and Defence Industries at his residence in Berlin, where they discussed means to expand joint military cooperation.
It includes the launch of joint industrialisation projects in Egypt in the light of the capabilities available at the Ministry of Military Production and the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI).
Sisi hailed the development of relations between Egypt and Germany in the past few years during the meeting attended by the Minister of Military Production Mohamed Said El-Assar and AOI head Abdel-Moneim El-Terras.
He affirmed Egypt’s keenness on developing relations with Germany and increasing investment opportunities to achieve joint cooperation in the security and military domains.
The president asserted the importance of taking into consideration the challenges the region is facing, including the spread of terrorism and armed organisations that pose threats to the security of the region and seek to spread chaos and violence, a matter that required the highest level of alert, while using the most up-to-date technology in the security domain.
Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said members of the German delegation praised Egypt’s role in supporting security and stability in the region as well as its efforts in combating terrorism.
The German delegation expressed keenness on promoting cooperation with Egypt to provide it with its needs to boost its defence capabilities, Rady added.
