President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has directed on Monday to provide support for national programs that promote climate action, according to Bassam Rady presidential spokesperson.
al-Sisi met with the Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly and Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat.
Morover, he ordered to cooperate with international partners to present successful national models to build on regionally and internationally.
This comes in line with Egypt’s goals towards climate change issue that represented in the implementation of pledges, within the framework of the green transformation approach in accordance with Egypt’s relevant national strategies.
The meeting reviewed the efforts of the ministry in mobilising concessional development funds related to climate change issue.
Al-Mashat presented the path of cooperation with international development partners within the framework of the NWFE program (Nexus of Water, Food, and Energy).
NWFE is a national program and a regional approach to link between international climate and development issues.
She also showed the final preparations for the convening of Egypt-International Cooperation Forum (ICF), which is scheduled to held in the new administrative capital next September.
ICF aims primarily to move from the stage of commitments to the implementation stage and to transform financial commitments into real opportunities.
