Joe Kaeser to outline company’s commitment to Egypt’s economic growth

Cairo – Joe Kaeser, President and CEO of Siemens AG, will take part in the Egypt Economic Development Conference(EEDC)in Sharm El-Sheikh.On the opening day of the conference, he will outline how Siemens can support Egypt’s future development.
“Siemens is committed to supporting Egypt’s long-term sustainable growth as a trusted advisor and technology and education partner,” said Joe Kaeser. “Egypt faces substantial challenges, particularly in the area of energy, and these challenges can be met by providing innovative and intelligent infrastructures. It’s critical to deploy the right mix of technologies quickly, efficiently, competently so that Egypt’s rapidly strengthening economy maintains its momentum”, Kaeser added.
Siemens is one of the only companies with a portfolio that covers the entire energy value chain, from reliable power generation and distribution to the efficient use of energy at the consumer level. “We have the right technologies and we have the expertise. As a proven local citizen present in Egypt for more than 110 years, we are part of the country and the Egyptian society. Weare familiar with what the country needs, and we know how to deliver it. That’s how we can support Egypt”, Kaeser said.
Siemens has been a technology and development partner for Egyptsince 1901, when the company established a branch office in Cairo. Siemens is a global leader in electrification, automation and digitalization. Approximately 26 percent of the Egypt’s power generation capacity comes from Siemens, as does a large share of its power transmission and distribution network.
Siemens has also completed major mobility, healthcare and industry projects in Egypt and employs about 550 there.
The EEDC will take place in Sharm El-Sheikh from March 13 to March 15, 2015.
