Seven new hotels and resorts in the Egyptian coastal resort city of Dahab in South Sinai have received hygiene safety certificates that will allow them to operate amid the coronavirus epidemic, Ahram online reported on Sunday.

These hotels are Tirana Dahab Resort, Swiss Inn Resort, Dahab Bay View Resort, Happy Life Hotel, Rocketa Hotel, Dyarna Dahab Hotel, and Coral Coast Hotel.

Since mid-May, when Egypt allowed hotels and resorts to receive guests after implementing strict health safety measures, the number of certified hotels has reached 132 hotels and resorts in 10 governorates all over Egypt: the Red Sea governorate, South Sinai, Alexandria, Suez, Matrouh, Qena, Luxor, Aswan, Damietta, and Greater Cairo.

The hotels received their certificates after fulfilling the regulations put in place by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and approved by the cabinet in accordance with the standards of the World Health Organisation (WHO).

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities calls on citizens and tourism companies to only deal with hotels that have obtained a health safety certificate.
