Remittances from Egyptian expats rise to $2.6bn in July – CBE

Egypt received around $2.6 billion in remittances from Egyptian expatriates in July, up from $1.9 billion in June, the central bank said on Wednesday.

The transfers amounted to a 13.6 percent year-on-year increase, the statement said. Remittances are a key source of foreign currency for Egypt.
