Qatar’s CPI falls 0.34% in Feb.

Qatar’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) in February decreased 0.34 per cent from January 2024 and up 2.70 per cent from the same month in 2023, the Planning and Statistics Authority reported on Sunday.

The prices increased year-on-year due to a 16.56 per cent increase in leisure and culture, food and beverages by 6.56 per cent, furniture and household appliances by 1.40 per cent, and other goods and services by 0.59 per cent.

The index declined compared to January, mainly due to decreases in entertainment and culture by 1.82 per cent, restaurants and hotels by 1.34 per cent, other goods and services by 0.34 per cent, and food and beverages by 0.20 per cent.

In February 2024, CPI excluding housing and utilities was 111.48, down 0.42 per cent from the previous month and up 3.75 per cent from the same month in 2023, according to the report.
