Protocol signed today to establish Egypt’s Damietta Furniture Zone

Ministries of Housing, Investment, and Industry have signed a protocol on cooperation Thursday to establish an industrial zone for furniture manufacturing in Daimetta, situated in about 200 kilometres (120 miles) north of Cairo.

The zone is set to be on a space of 331 feddans in Damietta governorate.

Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab has attended the signing ceremony which was between housing minister Mostafa Madbouli, trade minister Monir Fakhry Abd El Nour, investment minister Ashraf Salman, and Damietta governor Ismail Abdel Hamid.

As pursuant to the protocol, all parties are to cooperate to facilitate the necessary procedures to carry out the zone and its supplementary industries. The governorate will provide the 331 feddans necessary for the project.
