Procter & Gamble Egypt seizes 44% of Detergents Exports

Procter and Gamble – Egypt has captured 44% of Egypt’s detergent exports at the end of May 2015, a report showed Wednesday.

The report, released by Chemical Export Council (CEC), stated that the firm has seized exports volume of 202 million Egyptian pounds (US$ 25.8 million) within the first five months of 2015.

Procter & Gamble Co. (P&G) is an American multinational consumer goods company producing pet foods, cleaning agents, and personal care products.

The report announced that Egypt’s detergents exports hit EGP 518 million in January-May 2015 opposed to EGP 571 million at the same period of 2014, making 9.3 % decrease.

According to the report, Galaxy Surfactants-Egypt came the second with exports volume of EGP 87.3 million within the first five months of 2015.

Followed by Galaxy Surfactants was International Company for Investment and Development (ICID) with exports volume of 36.4 million Egyptian pounds then Henkel with exports volume of 34.8 million Egyptian pounds and Arma Soap and Detergents (ASD) which obtained exports volume of 28.6 million Egyptian pounds.

Moreover, the report stated that Kenya was the most importing state for the Egyptian detergents as it captured 26% of sector’s exports with EGP 96.6 million, followed by Lebanon with EGP 61.5 million.
