Procter & Gamble Egypt (P&G) has captured 41 percent of Egypt’s detergent exports with 423.7 million Egyptian pounds (US$54 million) , heading the list of detergents exporters in January-November 2015.
According to the latest report released by Chemical Export Council (CEC) Sunday, Egyptian exports of detergents have been declined 4 percent during the first eleven months of 2015 to record around 1.1 billion pounds opposed to 1.2 billion a year earlier.
Following P&G, Galaxy Surfactants-Egypt was the second largest exporter in detergents sector with exports worth 226.3 million pounds by the end of November 2015, then Henkel Port Said Company whose exports are estimated at 87.1 million pounds.
The report showed that the International Company for Investment and Development has achieved exports worth 80.5 million pounds while the exports of Arma Soap & Detergents (ASD) registered 71.3 million pounds.
The report stated that Kenya has seized 22 percent of the Egyptian detergents exports with 189.5 million pounds, leading the list of the largest importers in detergents sector at the end of November 2015.
Lebanon was the second largest importer of Egypt’s detergents during January-November 2015 with imports estimated at 150.1 million pounds followed by Libya whose imports recorded 111.8 million then Saudi Arabia with imports worth 99.5 million pounds.
