The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been invited to attend the new monarch’s coronation, which scheduled to take place on 6 May at Westminster Abbey in London, according to Associated Press reported on Monday.
Harry and Meghan’s spokesperson confirmed the arrival of official correspondence from the king’s office. “An immediate decision on whether the Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time,” he furtherly added.
Although formal invitations are expected to arrive to guests at a later date, it is believed some guests are approached ahead of time in order to save the date.
This announcement comes following speculations about whether the couple are to be invited or not.
Assuming different scenarios was not only due to the rupture in relations caused by the Prince releasing his memoir Spare. The palace’s request on Thursday that the Duke and Duchess evacuate their British base of Frogmore Cottage has further fuelled speculations.
