Polish pipeline operator PERN discovered a leak on Saturday evening in one line of the Druzhba pipeline, which carries oil from Russia to Europe, and halted oil pumping through the line.
There was no indication as to the cause of the leak, which follows a series of attacks on pipelines carrying Russian oil and gas since Moscow launched its invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
The leak was detected near the central Polish city of Chudić from one of the western sector lines of Drogba through which crude oil is pumped into Germany, according to the statement.
PERN added that the second line operated without any changes and that there was no health risk to the population, adding that the company had opened an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
