A delegation of 80 Polish firms will be visiting Egypt in May to discuss investment opportunities in Suez Canal development axis project, said head of Egyptian Commercial Office in Warsaw on Wednesday.
Those firms are studying investing in Egypt, notably in sectors of ship maintenance and repair, tractor manufacturing, as well as engineering and food industries, Abdel Aziz El Sherif further said.
The Egyptian Commercial Office in Warsaw has organised earlier on Monday, in cooperation with Poland’s National Chamber of Commerce, a workshop in which Ahmed Darwish, Chairman of the Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone, took part.
“We have also organised several meetings for Dr. Darwish with Polish officials, including the deputy minister of economic development, the vice prime minister, and the deputy foreign minister for international cooperation and the Middle East and Africa affairs, as well as the head of Warsaw regional government.” El Sherif said.
Darwish has discussed with Polish officials the possibility of establishing a joint fund to finance Poland’s investments in the Suez Canal area, the Egyptian official added.
Later, Darwish signed Wednesday a memorandum of understanding with the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone during his visit to Poland, to create a Polish industrial zone at the Suez Canal area.
