Orange Egypt has been awarded by Speedtest as the fastest network in Egypt after with data speed tests was matching international standards and superior to all other networks in the country.
The company celebrated this achievement during the Cairo International Telecommunication and Information Technology Trade Fair and Forum (Cairo ICT2018).
This assessment, based on network tests taken by Speedtest during Q2 and Q3 of 2018, gives Orange Egypt the right to claim it operates the fastest network in Egypt and use the commercial rights of Ookla in its campaigns.
However, The efficiency and the speed of mobile networks in Egypt have been tested through a number of standards based on data resulted from tests by the internet users
According to such tests, Ookla’s Speedtest application measures the speed of operators in a market and based on rigorous analysis determines which performs fastest in the award period.
On this occasion Yasser Shaker, CEO and Managing Director of Orange Egypt, said: “The Company has earned this award to become the fastest network in Egypt based on global standards. This award is a result of efforts and investments amounting 4 billion Egyptian pounds during the current year to increase the efficiency of the network and its infrastructure”.
For his part, Adam Keating, Ookla’s Director of Sales EMEA said “Today we award Orange based on the results achieved during Q2 and Q3”.
