The Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC+) expressed excitement about the prospect of its partnership with Namibia and pledged its support for the country’s oil endeavors, as per a Reuters report on Wednesday.
OPEC+ Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais highlighted the potential for Namibia to join the OPEC+ group, which has seen the departure of Angola and other members in recent times. Al Ghais emphasised Namibia’s significance in potentially becoming Africa’s fourth-largest oil producer by the next decade.
In a prerecorded message delivered at an international energy conference in Namibia, Al Ghais underscored the importance of Namibian oil and energy in meeting future demand. He encouraged potential investors to explore the abundant opportunities available in Namibia’s energy sector.
