Oman’s inflation hikes 1.9% in Feb.

The inflation rate in the Sultanate of Oman increased 1.9 per cent in February 2024 compared to same month a year earlier, according to data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) on Sunday.

The inflation rate was driven by the increase in most main groups comprising the Consumer Price Index (CPI), including the food and non-alcoholic beverages group which rose by 5.1 per cent.

The food and non-alcoholic beverages main group saw price increases in fish and seafood by 12.0 per cent, milk, cheese, and eggs by 10.1 per cent, and fruits by 0.9 per cent. Meanwhile, the vegetable prices decreased by 8.0 per cent.
