The Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) Ministerial Council holds its 89th meeting in Cairo with the participation of delegations from United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Qatar, Libya, Egypt and Bahrain.
Dr. Yousef Yousefy, Algerian Minister of Energy and chairman of the meeting, emphasized in his address on the importance of improving the oil and gas regional organizations.
The conference will discuss the available petroleum opportunities and the petroleum industry developments in the countries participating in the conference.
Abbas Ali Al-Naqi, Secretary General of OAPEC, commended the efforts exerted by the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum for facilitating holding meetings.
OAPEC received this month a letter from the Syrian Minister of Oil apologizing for not attending the meeting and delegating his Deputy instead. OAPEC also received a letter from the Bahraini Minister of Finance who he said he will not attend because he has already been committed to attend other meetings.
