National Authority for Tunnels (NAT), Arab Contractors (AC), and Orascom Construction (OC) are to hold talks over the second part of the Cairo Metro Line 3’s phase four, NAT’s Chairman Ismail El-Nagdy said Thursday.
The talks would focus on the cost of establishing the second part, the Chairman told Amwal Al Ghad, noting that the cost is expected to reach EGP4 billion (US$ 524.4)
NAT has awarded a contract to Orascom Construction Industries and Arab Contractors to build a 6.3km surface section from Nozha 2 to Al-Salam in the 10th City of Ramadan.
Cairo Metro – line 3 is set to be started from Embaba to El Mohandiseen, passing under the Nile up to Elzamalek Island – Attaba square – Abbassia – Cairo Stadium – Heliopolis – Alf Maskan – Gesr Al Swis – Cairo Airport with a total length of 34.2 km.
The second part of phase four is set to start from Gesr Al Swis to Al Salaam City, Cairo, the Chairman said.
The Egyptian government has provided all necessary funds to the fourth phase in addition to providing the funds for the third phase estimated at €900 million; the European Investment Bank to provide €600m and the French Development Agency to provide €300m.
Moreover, NAT has signed a contract with Vinci Construction France to implement the fourth phase of Line 3, which will extend the line by 5.1km from Haroun to Nozha 2.
