Majid Al Futtaim to establish 5 new Carrefour branches post coronavirus

Dubai-based mall operator Majid Al Futtaim is looking to open 5 new Carrefour branches after coronavirus crisis, according to Herve Majidier, its Chief Operating Officer.

The new branches will be established in Al Azhar, Al Salam, Mivida, ZAki Ragab, then carrefour will have a total of 58  branches in the Egyptian market.

He told Amwal Al Ghad Coronavirus crisis has radically affected the economy and trade, both globally and locally, stressing that the company has made preparations to provide the local market with all of its needs, as well as taking all necessary precautions to reach the highest levels of the safety of its customers to do the shopping.

In addition, Majid Al Futtaim plans to establish three Carrefour stores in the country’s new administrative capital, 45km (27.9 miles) east of Cairo, he said.

“We had launched Carrefour store in Egypt during 2002,” he said, adding that Majid Al Futtaim is currently operating 53 branches within the local market.
