Libya’s parliament calls for oil export embargo on countries backing Israel

by Nada Ali

The Libyan parliament called on the government to stop exporting oil and gas to countries that support Israel, unless its massacres against the Palestinians stop, its spokesman Abdullah Belihaq said in a statement on Wednesday.

The parliament also demanded ambassadors of countries supporting Israel’s crimes in Gaza to leave Libya immediately, taking specific aim at the United States, Britain, France and Italy.

It said those states “support the Zionist entity in its crimes” in the Gaza Strip, while their leaders “lecture on human rights and the right of peoples to self-determination,” the statement added.
