Lafarge studies acquiring a new cement production license

Erdogan S. Pekenc – CEO of Lafarge Group of Egypt- said that the company is considering the possibility of having one of the new licenses that will be issued by the Industrial Development Authority, for the purpose of establishing 12 new cement factories in Egypt.

Pekenc declared the termination of the dispute between the company and the Egyptian government about the new production line, through presenting a letter of guarantee indicating the worth the license to the Industrial Development Authority, until the end of their case in the Egyptian courts.

He also mentioned that the line started the actual production after the revolution, as it was provided with power, as Almasry Alyoum stated.

Pekenc added that the development sector in the group is doing extensive researches and studies to apply the sustainable development in Egypt’s real estate projects, beside the determination of the most compatible method to Egypt, as he clarified that the company began an effective research on some houses in Nasr City to engage in projects of low-cost housing.
