by Administrator

Egypt’s State for Environment Affairs Minister Laila Iskander has witnessed today signing fuel production from waste agreements between Suez and Qalyubia governorates and the French cement maker Lafarge SA.

Suez governor Al-Araby al-Serwy has contracted with Lafarge to implement the third phase of household waste disposal project.

Lafarge undertakes the residential waste collecting, which it uses in energy production.

Al-Serwy affirmed that Suez already contains four cement factories and suffers from energy crisis. In cooperation with Lafarge, the governorate will recycle the unused tonnes of waste to turn it into reliable energy sources.

From his part, Qalyubia Governor Mohamed Abdel Zaher assured that the new agreement is a major step to get rid of the crisis of waste and trash piles in streets.
