Jordan occupied the 23rd place among states investing in the Egyptian market since Jordanian investments in Egypt reached US$530.33 million, Egyptian investment authority announced Monday.
CEO of Egypt’s General Authority for Investment and Free Zone (GAFI), Mohamed Khodair clarified that these investments are injected through 1,614 firms in different fields.
Egypt’s industry sector seized 57 percent of the Jordanian investments while 13 percent of the investments was pumped into services sector.
Khodair added that finance sector got nine percent of Jordan’s total investments and tourism sector obtained seven percent.
Egyptian Ministry of Investment and GAFI keen on enhancing joint investments and economic cooperation with Jordan, the official pointed out.
Moreover, he noted that there are prominent opportunities to enhance joint investments and double their volume within the upcoming period as pursuant to the changes that Egyptian market witnesses.
