The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned on Saturday from pushing one million Palestinian towards the Egyptian borders after the Israel hits south Gaza again, following a weeklong truce expired.
“If there is fighting there is indeed a higher likelihood that they might wish to flee further south and beyond the border,” the commissioner General of UNRWA, Filipe Lazarini, said.
Until the truce, Israel had already killed over seven weeks about 15,000 Palestinians — two-thirds of them women and children — and left homeless more than 75 percent of Gaza’s 2.3 million residents.
