Hisham Khalil: intra-African cooperation key to clean energy transition for cement industry

Hisham Khalil, Secretary General of the Sudan Contractors Union, has called on Monday for boosting intra-African cooperation to enable clean energy transition for the cement industry in the continent.

Speaking at the seventh edition of the Builders of Egypt Forum, Khalil has necessitated intra-African cooperation to achieve self-sufficiency in the cement and construction industry across the continent.

The provision of alternative and clean energy resources is needed to boost cement production capacity in Africa, he added.

Khalil also referred to Egypt’s instrumental role in helping the development of Sudan’s infrastructure.
