GOEIC suspends 101 firms from exporting products to Egypt

Egypt’s the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) has suspended 16 more foreign companies from exporting their products to the Egyptian market after they have violated decree 43 of the year 2016.

Thus,  the number of suspended companies has  reached 101 firms after they have failed to meet the conditions set by decree 43 that  required  foreign manufacturers of specific products to register for export with the Egyptian General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC).

Under Decree 43/2016, listed products are only allowed entry into the Egyptian market if they are registered by the owner of the manufacturing facility or the legal holder of the trademark in advance.

The list of suspended companies included 12 Chinese companies, 45 Turkish companies, in addition to a number of other companies distributed between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the United States of America, Vietnam, South Korea, Syria, Austria, Italy and Greece.

Products for which registration is required included  milk and milk products, preserved and dried fruits,     Chocolate and food products containing cocoa,  toys, Textiles, clothing, furnishing, carpets, blankets and footwear.
