Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met on Saturday with General Electric Company CEO Jeffrey R. Immelt.
Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker and Minister of Transport Galal Saeed attended the meeting.
Presidential spokesman Alaa Yousef said it was the second visit by Immelt to Egypt in less than two months. Sisi lauded the volume of the GE operations in Egypt, said the presidential spokesman.
Sisi said Egypt is keen to boost cooperation with the company to promote local manufacturing of production components and create more jobs, added the spokesman.
Immelt said his company looks forward to increasing its investments in Egypt and creating more jobs for young people in the coming years. He also stressed commitment to contributing to the development process in Egypt.
