European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will continue supporting the government’s Egypt Vision 203 as Fresh investment and cooperation in Egypt’s development projects are coming.
That was the main takeaway from EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso’s meeting yesterday with President Abdel Fattah al Sisi.
Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said on Wednesday that Egypt is looking forward to continuing cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to achieve its goals and development priorities.
Basso said that the bank values its relations with Egypt and its financial institutions, praising the economic reform programme applied by Egypt since 2016.
She also added that the programme contributed to giving a push to the Egyptian economy, increasing its growth rates and attracting more foreign direct investments.
EBRD is keen to increase its business in Egypt and carry out more development projects in the country, Renaud-Basso noted.
Renaud Basso told al Sisi EBRD remains interested in renewable energy, climate change, digital transformation, education, SMEs, housing, and rural development, according to an Ittihadiya statement.
Startups were also on the agenda for Renaud-Basso during a meeting with International Cooperation Minister Rania Al Mashat, in which they discussed supporting entrepreneurship, with a focus on fintech, according to a statement.
