Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed means of bolstering Saudi-Egyptian ties with visiting Saudi Shura Council speaker Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohamed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh.
The two officials discussed the role of parliamentary relations in strengthening cooperation between Cairo and Riyadh, the Egyptian foreign ministry said in a statement on Wednesday
During the talks, Shoukry stressed “Egypt’s full support for the brothers in Saudi Arabia” and that it “stands by the kingdom in all [measures] it takes to ensure its security and stability,” the statement added.
Shoukry and Abdullah also discussed regional issues of mutual interest and challenges facing Arab countries.
The Saudi parliament speaker and an accompanying delegation held talks on Tuesday with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
