The state-run Russian Helicopters Holding Company is planning to establish a free aviation zone in Egypt in the coming phase, chairman Alexander Mikheev revealed Tuesday.

Mikheev further said his company seeks to sign an agreement with Egypt’s ministries of Aviation and Transport to supply helicopters soon.

The free aviation zone will integrate with the Egyptian and Russian governments’ efforts to launch the Russian free industrial zone in Attaqa, Suez.

Russian Helicopters is one of the biggest four leading players in the global helicopter industry, the sole Russian rotorcraft designer and manufacturer and one of the few companies worldwide with the capability to design, manufacture, service and test modern civilian and military helicopters. Egypt owns 800 helicopters 108 of them are Russian.
