by Sama Mousa

ExxonMobil teamed up with Tetra Technologies to develop 6,100 acres of lithium in the US’ Arkansas, according to a statement on Thursday.

The partnership is a step forward in the company’s plan to control production of the main metal used in Electric Vehicles (EV) batteries.

The fast-paced growth of ExxonMobil in the lithium sector comes along with the companies’ interest in technologies that aim to provide the world with the lightweight metal.

Tetra Technologies is a major company in the field of water treatment and is expected to be able to produce bromine after the agreement, to be used in EV battery production.
