Egypt’s trade with Algeria rises 42.4% in Q1

Trade exchange between Egypt and Algeria rose 42.4 percent to $201.4 million during the first quarter of the current financial year from $141.4 million a year earlier, according to the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS).

The trade between both Arab countries reached $201.4 million from January to the end of March 2019, compared to $141.4 million a year earlier, according to the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS).

Egyptian exports to Algeria went up 11 percent to $137.2 million during the first quarter versus $123.6 million in the year-ago period.

On the other hand, Egypt’s imports from Algeria soared to $64.2 million in the three-month period ended 31 March 2019, against $17.8 million the year before.
