Egypt’s stock exchange’s (EGX) indexes closed lower on Thursday, with the benchmark EGX 30 index falling 0.10 percent to 11,323 points driven by local investors’ selloff.
The EGX 70 EWI index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) dropped 0.56 percent to 1,984 points, while the fixed-weighted index, EGX 30 Capped inched down 0.23 percent to 13,236 points. The all-embracing index, EGX 100 lost 0.50 percent to 2,917 points. Meanwhile, the equal weights index, EGX 50 went down 0.50 percent to 2,137 points.

Total market capitalisation has incurred losses 1 billion Egyptian pounds ($63.7 million) to close at 630.655 billion pounds on Thursday.

Also on Thursday, the trading value has approximately reached 2,1 billion pounds, while the trading volume has almost recorded 322 million securities executed 40,957 transactions.
