Egypt’s stock exchange’s (EGX) indexes closed lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark EGX 30 index falling 0.50 percent to 11,101 points driven by local investors’ selloff.
The EGX 70 EWI index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) lost 1.25 percent to 1,918 points, while the fixed-weighted index, EGX 30 Capped dropped 0.61 percent to 12,957 points. The all-embracing index, EGX 100 tumbled 1.27 percent to 2,818 points. Meanwhile, the equal weights index, EGX 50 inched down 1.81 percent to 2,055 points.

Total market capitalisation has incurred losses worth 3.9 billion Egyptian pounds ($248.6 million) to close at 617.888 billion pounds on Wednesday.
Trading Aggregates
Also on Wednesday, the trading value has approximately reached 1,678 billion pounds, while the trading volume has almost recorded 346,8 million securities executed 41,848 transactions.
