Egypt’s Sisi issues decree pardoning some prisoners on Jan. revolution anniversary

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Tuesday issued a decree pardoning some prisoners on the occasion of the eighth anniversary of the January 25th Revolution and Police Day.

Upon the presidential decree, a higher security committee led by the assistant interior minister for prisons affairs is formed to examine the cases of the prisoners and determine those who deserve to be pardoned.

The decree was published in the gazette.
