Egypt’s ready-made garment exports (RMGEC) to the United States grew 11 percent to $1.3 billion in 2022, chairperson Marie Louis Beshara said on Monday.

Earlier, exports stood at $1.1 billion in 2021, Beshara added.

According to the RMGEC chairperson, the United States captured a 52 percent share of the Egyptian ready-made garment exports.

The council is heading a delegation of 13 Egyptian companies to take part in the fashion tradeshow, MAGIC in Las Vegas, which runs between February 13-15, she said.

The delegation will have bilateral meetings with foreign traders in order to create new export opportunities, Beshara stated.
