Egypt’s exports of plastic products have reached $1.75 billion in 2023, representing 27 per cent of its chemical and fertilisers sector exports, according to the Chemical and Fertilisers Export Council’s (CEC) report.
The CEC released on Tuesday its report at the opening of the PLASTEX 2024 and the Egypt Plast 2024 exhibitions taking place in Cairo on January 9-12, under the patronage of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly and Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir.
The two exhibitions are covering 30,000 sqm across three halls, showcasing intermediate and final products of plastics, petrochemical raw materials, and equipment.
Around 118 companies participating in the Egypt Plast exhibition, and 242 companies in the PLASTEX exhibition, along with 12 countries, including China, Turkey, Taiwan, India, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Morocco, and Italy.
The exhibitions will witness the participation of five small and micro-sized Egyptian enterprises, and 15 training courses for the plastics industry.
