Egypt’s exports of marble and granite dropped 31 percent during first quarter of 2020 to $42 million down from $61 million in the correspondent period, according to a report by Egyptian Export Council for Building Materials.
According the report the volume of exports of marble and granite decreased during Q1 by 31% to record 395.494 thousand tonnes compared to 575.14 thousand tonnes during the same period in 2019.
The monthly report alsoshowed that during the period “January-March 2020” Egypt exported marble and granite to 87 countries, adding 12 countries when compared to a year including Vietnam, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, Congo Brazzaville, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Slovakia, Bolivia, Dominica, Canada, Finland, Burkina Faso.
There are five countries seized a 50.2 percent share of Egypt’s marble and granite exports, recording $21.07 million, the report added.
