Egypt’s manufacturing index fell 1.3% in November 2019

The Egyptian index of manufacturing and extractive industries, excluding crude oil and petroleum products,  decreased by 1.3% month-on-month to 129.5 in November 2019 from 131.2, according to  the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

The index of manufacturing non-metallic mineral products such as brick, glass, and cement advanced by 22.6% to 114.86 last November from 93.66 a month earlier on the back of higher sales, data showed.

On the other hand, the index of manufacturing coking coal plunged by 46.2% to 6.69 in November from 12.43 in October.

Meanwhile, the index of manufacturing other machinery and equipment declined by 10.9% month-on-month to 213.14 from 239.17 in October 2019, dragged by lower export sales.
