Egypt’s Industrial Development Authority (IDA) is planning to launch a number of land plots over 17 million square metres for investors during 2020 according to Magdy Ghazy, the head of IDA.
IDA has launched total land plots of 43 million metres square among the ministry of industry plan to launch 60 million metres square, he addded during a community dialogue regarding the obstacles that face marble and granite industry.
He explained that a protocol is currently being prepared that will be signed soon between the governorate and IDA to optimize the use of Aswan quarries and achieve positive returns from them, especially in light of the human potential and huge natural resources.
Ghazy also noted that the government has launched a new portal for the industrial investment map while launching 2000 investments opportunities.
The map is the first guide for lands and industrial zones, comprising all data with regards to vacant lots ready to be tapped as investment opportunities in the new cities and governorates.
He also added that IDA is also working to develop and upgrade 134 industrial zones, which qualifies Egypt for the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution.
