Egypt’s headline inflation rate fell by 0.4 percent month-on-month (MoM) to 110.2 points in January, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
The decline in inflation rate was ascribed to lower prices of vegetables by 20.4 percent, ready-made garments by 0.1 percent, transportation services by 0.6 percent, and hotels services by 0.6 percent,, data showed.
On the other hand, the prices of fruits increased by 5.4 percent, meat and poultry by 5.2 percent, and house rentals by 0.3 percent.
The annual headline inflation rate registered 4.8 percent in January, compared to 6.8 percent in the same month a year earlier.
