Hapi Tours, one of Egypt’s oldest tourism, courier, airfreight and transportation companies, announced a new executive management team hired in March 2019 with the aim of restructuring the business to drive growth.

Alaa Rady has been appointed as board member in charge of setting the strategy and directing the restructuring and turning around of Hapi Tours to make it competitive and able to reach its maximum potential.  Rady is one of Egypt’s most competent strategic business management consultants with an impeccable international track record turning companies around in less than one year.  He sits on the board of numerous leading businesses across different sectors and international geographies and has advised some of Egypt’s biggest businessmen and government ministers.  Moreover, he had taken leadership roles at companies like Mars Inc. in Algeria, Philip Morris in Switzerland, Bain & Company in Paris, Kazyon and Sewedy Electric in Egypt.

“There is no doubt that Dr. Rady has the needed expertise to take Hapi Tours to the next level of growth.” Hapi Tours said in a statement on May 29th.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Mahmoud took the position of Chief Executive Officer. He has over 20 years diversified investment & strategy experience, including private equity, investment banking, and mergers and acquisitions.  Mahmoud boasts a solid track record setting up investment strategies and policies, deal sourcing, buy side deal execution, managing and monitoring investment portfolios and successful capital raising.

Mahmoud previously held various international leadership roles in some the world’s biggest companies.  Among them, he served as Pharma Executive Committee Member at Novartis Healthcare in Egypt, as well as CEO of Plena Capital Egypt, Originations Director Weiji Capital, USA, and Investor Relations Director at Asia Power Group, UK.

One of the first steps we’re going to take is to combine our special courier and airfreight business divisions into one powerful business unit given the synergies they share,” Mahmoud said.

“Our goal is to aggressively expand this promising business unit across North Africa in the coming three years.  Furthermore, we have an aggressive go-to-market plan that will double the special courier division in the coming 18 months.” he added.

Hapi Tours aims to build a world class clinical storage facility to serve its Pharma clients across the MENA region within the coming 18 months.  This facility will become a Centre of Excellence when it comes to commercial operations and international compliance.
