Egypt’s food exports to the European Union (EU) countries grew 24 percent year-on-year to $152 million in the first quarter of the year, the country’s Food Export Council announced on Wednesday.
Earlier, Egypt’s food exports to the EU countries stood at $116 million in the first quarter of 2020.
Italy has been the top importer of Egypt’s food exports to the EU, with a share of $37 million, followed by Germany of $28 million, the Netherlands of $21 million, and Spain of around $16 million.
The UK came in the fifth position with a share of $12 million, followed by France of around $10 million, Belgium of $8 million, Poland of around $5 million, Greece of around $3 million, and Romania with $2 million.
