Egypt’s exports to Türkiye grew by 32.3 percent reaching $4 billion in 2022 compared to $3 billion in 2021, data from Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) showed on Saturday.
The data revealed that Egypt’s imports from Türkiyeplunged 0.7 percent to $3.72 billion from $3.74 billion.
Meanwhile, bilateral trade volume between the two countries has increased by 14 percent, hitting $7.7 billion in 2022, compared to $6.7 billion a year earlier.
While, the Turkish investments in Egypt grew by 30.3 percent during 2021/2022, amounting to $179.9 million, against $138.1 million during the previous fiscal year.
“Egypt has always been keen to maintain economic relations with Türkiye,” said Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry in a statement.
Noteworthy, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu visited Cairo on Saturday to restore full diplomatic relations between the two countries despite Ankara’s ongoing support for the Muslim Brotherhood group.
